II. generally, in passionate distress, Theoc. 24.61. (ἀκρα‐ is confirmed by metre of Com., Ion. form ἀκρη‐, and etym. (shortened fr. ἀκρατ‐); ἀκρο‐ is freq. v.l. in codd. of early authors, as Pl. l. c.)
