βλίττω

A. ἔβλισα Pl. R. 564e:—cut out the comb of bees, take the honey, l.c.; σφηκιὰν β. S. Fr. 778: metaph., β. τὸν δῆμον rob the people of their honey, Ar. Eq. 794, cf. Lys. 475:—Pass., πλεῖστονδὴ . . τοῖς κηρῆσι μέλι βλίττεται prob. in Pl. l.c.; β. τὰ σμήνη the hives have their honey taken, Arist. HA 554a15, cf. 627b2.
