A. wild pear, Pyrus amygdaliformis, TeleclId. 32, Ar. Ec. 355, Dsc. 1.116; used for the tree as well as the fruit, cf. Arist. HA 627b17 with 595a29, Thphr. HP 1.4.1 with CP 2.8.2; cf. ἄχερδος.
