2. esp. in Math., of lines or planes which never meet, e. g. parallel straight lines, Hero *Deff. 70; of lines which do not cut a curve, non-secant, ἀ. τῇ τομῇ αἱ ΓΔ, ΓΕ Apollon.Perg.
