ἀσύμβολος

A. without contribution (cf. συμβολή), freq. in later Com.:

I. of the dinner, δεῖπνον ἀ. to which no one brings anything, Alex. 257.2, Amphis 39; δείπνων ἡδοναῖς ἀ. Timocl. 8.10: metaph., ἀ. βίος unsocial, solitary, Plu. 2.957a.

II. of persons, not contributing to a feast, not paying one's scot or share, δεῖπνα δειπνεῖν ἀσύμβολον Aeschin. 1.75, cf. Dromo 1.2; ἀ. κινεῖν ὀδόντας Timocl. 10.4; τὸν ἀ. εὗρε γελοῖα λέγειν Ῥαδάμανθυς Anaxandr. 10; τρέφειν τινὰ ἀ. Men. Sam. 258, cf. Diph. 73.8; ἔστω ἀ. ἐν συνόδοις πάσαις Michel 998.44 (Delos); ἡδονὴ ἀ.
