A. dried up, withered, worn out, ἀσκελέες καὶ ἄθυμοι Od. 10.463.
2. neut. ἀσκελές as Adv., toughly, stubbornly, ἀ. αἰεί ib.1.68,4.543; ἀ. αὔτως Nic. Th. 278:—also ἀσκελέως αἰεί Il. 19.68.
II. (ἀ‐ priv., σκέλος) without legs, Pl. Ti. 34a, Arist. GA 717b17.
2. (ἀ‐ copul., σκέλος) = ἰσοσκελής, even, of a balance, Nic. Th. 42.
