2. giving no sign: hence, unseen, unknown, Nonn. D. 3.95, 5.232; unintelligible, ἔπεα ib.10.31.
III. ἀσήμαντοι τούτου ὃ . . σῶμα ὀνομάζομεν not entombed in this, which we call body, Pl. Phdr. 250c, with play on signf. 11.1, cf. Dam. Pr. 161.
