I. c. acc. rei, wipe off, ἀφρόν τ’ ἀπέψη E.l.c.; δάκρυ AP 5.65(Rufin.), cf. Nonn. D. 8.205:—Med., wipe or rub off from oneself, τι Ar. Eq. 572.

2. ἀ. νούσους cure diseases, of Apollo, Herod. 4.17.

II. c. acc. pers., wipe clean, Ar. Lys. 1035:—Med. (v.ψάω) wipe oneself, wipe one's nose, μου πρὸς τὴν κεφαλὴν ἀποψῶ wipe your nose on my head, Id. Eq. 910; podicem detergere, ἀποψώμεσθα Id.
