ψαρός

A. like a starling, i. e. speckled, dappled, ψ. ἵππος a dapple-grey horse, Ar. Nu. 1225, LXX Za. 1.8; Arist. HA 632b19 distinguishes it fr. ποικίλος, which implies that the spots are more distinctly marked:—Comp. ψαρότερος Ael. NA 12.28, Aët. 11.11.
