A. carrying one's house with one, of the Scythians in Hdt. 4.46.
II. Subst., house-carrier, i.e. snail, Hes. Op. 571: acc. to others, a kind of wasp, or a tortoise, Hsch. EM 790.35, cf. φέροικος.
