ὑθλέω

A. talk nonsense, trifle, prate, Ar. Nu. 783; τοιαῦθ’ ὑθλῶν δειπνεῖ καὶ ζῇ Ephipp. 19 (anap.). [υ Ephipp. l.c., perh. long by nature, but the accent of ὕθλος, if correct, implies υ, and so apptly. Alex. in Gloss.Oxy. 1801.52.]
