Ὕης

ου, ὁ

ὕω

II. epith. of Dionysus, Cli<to>dem.21, Euph. 14 (in Hsch. also Ὑεύς, in Sch.Ar. Av. 874 Ὕας), as the god of fertilizing moisture, Plu. 2.364d: cf. Ὑάδες 11, Ὕη. The invocation Ὕης ἄττης in D. 18.260 is of doubtful meaning; Ὕης is placed among ζενικοὶ θεοί by Ar. Fr. 878 (cf. Apolloph. 7). (Acc. to Hdn.Gr.1.59 Ὑῆς is the correct accent.)
