II. metaph., ἡ ποιητικὴ τ. the poetic rout, Epicur. Fr. 228; so of a Bacchic festival and its dance, Paus. 2.24.6: hence, acc. to Suid., = ἀπόλαυσις, revelry. [Oxyt. in some codd. of Hp. l.c.; the form σύρβη is cited by Suid., Eust. 871.60.] (Cf. Lat. turba, O Norse pyrpask 'crowd together'.)
