thrice-fattened, thrice-gorged, epith. of the δαίμων of the Atridae (perh. in allusion to the three visitations mentioned in A. Ch. 1065-74), Ag. 1476 (lyr.):—the word is doubtful; Bamberger proposed τριπάχυντον, referring to Th. 771; Blomf. τριπάλαιον; Bamberger (olim) τριπαλαιστήν.
