A. a misfortune one brings on oneself, said to be derived from one Τέρμερος a highwayman, Philipp. ap.Sch.E. Rh. 509, Plu. Thes. 11, Jul. Or. 7.210d; prob. to be restored for μερμέριον κ. in Luc. Lex. 11: τερμερίης prob.portentous in Epic.Alex. Adesp. 2.15.
