Pseudo-Tertullian

Latin

Works attributed to "Pseudo-Tertullian" are writings transmitted under Tertullian's name but judged by scholars to be by other hands. The most significant is the Adversus Omnes Haereses ("Against All Heresies"), a catalogue of heretical movements that may be an epitome of Hippolytus's lost work on the same subject. The poem Carmen adversus Marcionitas is also attributed to Pseudo-Tertullian.

The real authors are unknown. The works survive because Tertullian's name guaranteed their preservation.
