I. a people of Hispania Baetica, near the mod. Seville, Liv. 21, 6, 1; 34, 17, 2.—In a comic lusus verbb. with turdus (a thrush), Plaut. Capt. 1, 2, 60. —Hence, Turdētānia, ae, f., the country of the Turdetani, Turdetania: in Turdetaniam proficiscitur, Liv. 34, 17, 1; 28, 39, 11.
