a class of peasants in Gaul, who rebelled under the emperor Diocletian, and were finally conquered by Maximian, Aur. Vict. Caes. 39; Eutr. 9, 20.—Hence, Bagaudĭca rebellio, rebellion of the peasants, Eum. pro Restaur. Schol. 4.
