I. a place in Rome, probably near the walls, the resort of vile characters, Mart. 1, 35, 6.— Hence, Summoenĭānus, a, um, adj., of or belonging to Summœnium: uxores, Mart. 3, 82, 2; cf. buccae, id. 11, 61, 2.
