The son of Pelops, brother of Atreus and Thyestes, and the father of Agamemnon and Menelaus, who were brought up by his brother Atreus (whence they are called Atridae), Serv. Verg. A. 1, 458; acc. to others, Hyg. Fab. 86 and 97.—Hence,
