II. A promontory of Locri Epizephyrii, in Lower Italy; whence, Amphissi-us, a, um, adj., of Amphissa: Amphissia saxa, Ov. M. 15, 703 Riese, where Merkel reads Amphrisia, the designation of a place now unknown.
