I. to groan, wail, lament at a thing; absol. or with dat. (only poet.): Adgemit Alcides, Ov. F. 5, 400, where Riese has Et gemit: Adgemit et nostris ipsa carina malis, id. Tr. 1, 4, 10: uterque loquenti adgemit, Stat. Th. 11, 247.
